Application

The Clair Brothers 12 AM is a portable, low-profile, high output stage monitoring system that delivers incredible SPL from a small enclosure. Designed for bi-amplification and custom processing (utilizing the Clair Brothers CR-12LC dedicated signal processor), the 12 AM is in a class by itself. No other product can duplicate its combination of performance, size and packaging. The 12 AM is the monitor of choice for many or the world's top entertainers.

Features

The high frequency compression driver features a two-inch throat with a four-inch titanium diaphragm and neodynium magnet assembly. This driver is coupled to a proprietary patented asymmetrical horn. A custom 300 watt 12-inch cone transducer provides mid-bass and low frequency reproduction. The unique combination yields excellent performance, uncolored tonal balance, and directional characteristics.

Dual rear mounted EP4 connectors allow the use of multiple cabinets from a single amplifier. Low profile, incorporated fiberglass side handles make the cabinets easy to move.

Options

Cabinets are available as single units or in mirror image pairs for stereo orientation. Unique to the 12 AM is a folding road case that houses two monitors (RC-12AM). Exteriors are standard matte black or may be custom finished.

Architects' and Engineers' Specifications

The loudspeaker shall be a two-way active system featuring a total of two drivers. The low/mid frequency section shall have one 12" driver capable of handling 300 watts of pink noise with a 6 dB crest factor for 8 hours (as per EIA RS-426-A standard). The high frequency section shall contain a two-inch compression driver coupled to a custom CBA asymmetrical horn. The driver shall be capable of handling 150 watts

(1 kHz to 10 kHz) of pink noise with a 6 dB crest factor for two hours (as per AES-1984 and ANSI S4.26-1984 standards). The crossover point shall be 1200 Hz. The signal processor shall be the Clair Brothers CR-12LC dedicated processor. The enclosure shall be constructed of 19 mm 13-ply Baltic Birch and be covered with a black epoxy mastic finish. Dimensions shall be 13.93" high, 22.43" wide, and 18" deep. The system weight shall be 74 lb. The loudspeaker system shall be the Clair Brothers 12 AM monitor speaker.
