Runny nose is one of the symptoms of a cold, which is easy to get, especially in the autumn and winter. Is a defensive reaction of the body manifested by the appearance of a nasal discharge of a watery or mucous nature. Its task is to get rid of viral or bacterial infections that attack the nasal mucosa, and to cleanse the nose by sneezing and blowing out the secretion formed. The main factor affecting the appearance of rhinitis are three groups of viruses: rhinoviruses, whose specific period of activity falls in autumn and winter, coronaviruses and adenoviruses. In addition to the appearance of nasal discharge, a runny nose is manifested by swelling of the nasal turbinates and a blocked nose. One of the classic home remedies for a stuffy nose is to inhale hot steam. The steam helps to relax mucus or moisten the nasal mucosa. Water enriched with salt or essential oils, such as eucalyptus, thyme, anise or peppermint, makes inhalation particularly effective against colds caused by colds.
To inhale, you can fill a pot or bowl with hot water, and then lean over the evaporating liquid with the towel on your head. However, remember that the risk of burns is very high. If you do not close your eyes, the ethereal fumes can cause burning and tearing.

Onion and garlic
