In the spotlight

Belmont University School of Music
Massey Auditorium
Our first installation that featured both the CAT loudspeaker system and Clair iO digital signal processor by Lake Technologies. The iO is now available as a specific installation processor that is recommended for use with the CAT loudspeaker - the iO-s.

A view of the three CAT clusters above the stage.
The small curved arrays exhibit excellent coverage characteristics and are more than sufficient to fill this auditorium with sound.

Two of the clusters have two CS-18 subwoofers mounted on top using a custom rigging frame.
Keeping the subwoofers close to the main loudspeakers is beneficial to their acoustic integration in the system and overall perceived quality of the sound reproduction.

Two views of the amplifier and processing racks. Two Clair iO processors is all that was used to provide all necessary frequency and time domain processing for the loudspeaker clusters.
The iO, with it's advanced equalization algorithms, high sampling rate and transformer isolated outputs was the clear choice for the designer of the system as the best available processor regardless of cost.

Frank Baird, the technical director at the Massey Auditorium is very happy with the installation.
"The sound is very warm" he said.
The Yamaha PM1d, also installed by Clair Brothers Systems, provides a very clean front end for the system.
